Welcome to the Department of Neurology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center

I'm delighted to welcome you to our Department of Neurology. Whether you're visiting as a patient, exploring opportunities as a learner or trainee, or considering joining us as a faculty colleague, I'm grateful you've taken the time to get to know us.

Our department is a place where people care deeply about their patients, their work and about one another. Every day, our teams bring skill, compassion and dedication to the care of patients across Mississippi and the region. We provide comprehensive clinic and inpatient expertise in general neurology, epilepsy, neuromuscular medicine, vascular neurology, critical care neuroscience, movement disorders and dementia. These programs are built on collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to doing what's best for our patients and their families.

We are equally passionate about teaching and mentorship. Our faculty take pride in supporting learners at every stage – from medical students discovering neurology for the first time, residents shaping their professional identities, and fellows deepening their subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology, Vascular Neurology and Neurocritical Care. If you join us as a trainee, you'll find a community that values curiosity, encourages questions and celebrates growth.

Research is another cornerstone of who we are. Our department is home to investigators and clinicians who are working to better understand neurological disease and bring new treatments to the bedside. Whether you're interested in clinical trials, translational science or innovative approaches to patient care, you'll find opportunities to contribute and collaborate.

If you're considering becoming part of our department – as a student, resident, fellow or faculty member – I hope you'll see that this is a place where people are supported, challenged and welcomed. We are a community united by a simple purpose: to improve lives through excellent care, meaningful discovery and the education of future neurologists.

We look forward to meeting with you.
